SG-PR-33-04 Testing and Jogging
This procedure: shall be used in situations where it is necessary to re-energise plant/equipment in order to test its operation or move equipment to further the work scope.

TESTING AND jOGGGING EQUIPMENT
when jogging or testing is being performed, all work activities on plant/equipment associated with the plant/equipment being tested or jogged shall be confirmed as completed prior to commencing.
- Work Permit Holder (or person responsible for conducting the works)
- Advises Work Permit Authoriser (or person authorising the work) that Testing or Jogging is required for item of equipment.
- Confirms that equipment is ready for testing or jogging.
- Confirms that Team Members are not working on the job.
- Ensures that Team Members remove isolations.
- Work Permit Authoriser (or person authorising the work)
- Consults with Isolation Person and Work Permit Holder (or person responsible for conducting the works) to identify de-isolation points to perform Testing and Jogging.
- Explains safety precautions that must be observed.
- Isolation Person
- De-isolates equipment as agreed for Testing and Jogging.
- Directs Work Permit Holder (or person responsible for conducting the works) to hang Testing or Jogging tags to de-isolation points.
- Ensures it is safe to perform Testing or Jogging.
- Advises Work Permit Authoriser that equipment has been de-isolated for Testing or Jogging.
- Work Permit Authoriser (or person authorising the work)
- Authorise’s the Testing and Jogging process.
- Work Permit Holder (or person conducting the works)
- Follows safety precautions as explained by the Work Permit Authoriser (or person authorising the works) and Isolation Person.
- Completes information on Testing and Jogging Tags.
- Attaches Testing and Jogging Tags to de-isolation points under supervision of the Isolation Person.
- Ensures it is safe for Testing or Jogging.
- Advises Work Permit Authoriser (or person authorising the works) that equipment is safe to perform Testing or Jogging.
Personnel who are not directly associated with the Testing or Jogging process must be evacuated from the immediate area.
- Perform Testing or Jogging of equipment.
If Testing or Jogging on the item of equipment is unsuccessful and further maintenance is required the equipment must BE RE-isolated to the condition prior to Testing and Jogging.
TESTING AND JOGGING Tags must be removed.
the work permit must be revalidated and Personal Danger Tags must be re-attached if further maintenance work is required.
- After the successful completion of Testing or Jogging advises Work Permit Authoriser that Testing or Jogging is completed and removes Testing or Jogging tags.
- Work Permit Authoriser (or person authorising the works)
- Advises Isolation Person that the Testing or Jogging is completed and requests that equipment be re-instated to condition prior to Testing or Jogging.
- Isolation Person
- Re-isolates isolation points that were de-isolated for the Testing or Jogging programme.
- Advises the Work Permit Authoriser (or person authorising the works) that the Testing and Jogging is completed and the equipment has been re-isolated.
