SG-PR-33-21 Plant and Equipment


1.0        IMPLEMENTATION GUIDELINES

1.1        Identification Of Equipment Requirements

Symmetrical Group is responsible to ensure all plant and equipment on the project is:

Management shall ensure the Plant and Equipment Register is always up to date and includes the following details such as:


1.3        Site Acceptance

Upon arrival and prior to operation all plant and equipment shall be inspected to ensure the following:


1.4        Pre-Start Inspection

Prior to any piece of plant or equipment being operated a pre-start inspection must be performed.  This inspection may consist of:


1.5        Training Requirements

All personnel who either operate or maintain equipment must be appropriately trained to do so.  Personnel shall not operate or maintain equipment until this requirement has been met.  It is the responsibility of the Contractor or Subcontractor to ensure that personnel have the necessary skills. The Contractor or Subcontractor shall provide appropriate documentation (eg. license, certificates etc.) to Symmetrical Group for all personnel operating plant and equipment.

1.6        Plant And Equipment Maintenance

All plant and equipment shall have regular maintenance performed on it.  Maintenance schedules for plant and equipment can be found in the Equipment Register.  It is the responsibility of the Contractor or Subcontractor to ensure that maintenance schedules are adhered to for all plant and equipment.

All plant shall be washed prior to departing for the site and also upon arrival to site. Following arrival cleaning shall be conducted weekly. These measures assist in controlling the spread of noxious weeds.

1.7        Defective / Damaged Equipment

No plant or equipment shall be used if it is found to be defective or damaged.  Likewise defective or damaged equipment must be repaired prior to it being operated on site. Any plant or equipment that cannot be repaired shall be rendered inoperable and removed from site.

2.0        DEFINITIONS

Competent Person:  in relation to the doing of anything, means a person who has acquired through training, qualifications or experience, or a combination of those things, the knowledge and skills required to do that thing competently.
